Directories Enquiries Service

The Directories Enquiries Service can be used when you are unable to:

• find what you are looking for, or
• understand the answer you have found

This service DOES NOT extend to scrutinising documents provided in connection with a claim or an award so please ensure that you DO NOT attach any documentation to your query as this may breach data protection rules.

Be sure to include the following information when contacting us:

• the information you have been searching for and cannot find, stating the search words and combination of words you have tried, and/or
• the page(s) you have found that relate to your query and why you do not understand the content. Please state the URL from the browser window.

We need this information to enable us to research your query and to ensure the content of The Directory is comprehensive and easy to understand.

Queries are responded to strictly in the order that they are received and it is our aim to respond within 10 working days, depending on the number and complexity of the queries being received at any one time. We ask that you do not follow-up any queries unless not responded to by the end of the 10th working day.

Please note: For English LAs, we can only respond to CTR enquiries that are prescribed requirements. In England, where your enquiry is about rules that are not prescribed for people of working age please refer to your LAs local scheme rules.
